Practical roof advice

Specify the wall before comparing prices

Two drywall quotations may look similar while allowing for different stud sizes, board layers, insulation, heights and finishing standards. Those details determine performance and price.

Door frames, glazing, skirtings, electrical points and ceiling junctions must be coordinated early to avoid cutting apart completed work.

Fire or acoustic ratings should only be claimed where the complete tested system and installation requirements are specified and followed.

Useful answers

Before the inspection.

Is drywall suitable for offices?

Yes. It is widely suited to offices and commercial interiors because layouts can be created efficiently with relatively low wet-work disruption.

Can insulation be installed inside drywall?

Yes. Insulation can be included for acoustic or thermal purposes according to the required build-up.

Can drywall be fire-rated?

Specified systems can provide tested fire performance, but the complete build-up, boards, framing, joints, penetrations and installation must follow the relevant system specification.
